One
killed, 2 hurt in frays
A man attending a public dance did not survive the night after he was
stabbed by an unidentified suspect in barangay
Tabugoc, Pandan town last week.
Pandan police authorities said the victim, Maximo Sanchez y Arcilla,
married and a resident of the barangay, was
stabbed in the different parts of his body by
his unknown attacker while Sanchez was at a
public dance. He was rushed to the Pandan
district hospital but was declared dead on
arrival at 1:30 A.M. of Feb. 17.
In the capital town, one Leonardo Villegas stabbed Arman Socao y Salalima,
26, married and a resident of barangay Sto.
Cristo, in front of the residence of Simeon
Asuncion last Feb. 20. Witnesses Luis Tomagan
and Michael Vargas saw the suspect plunge a
bladed weapon into Socao's chest.
In a related development, a laborer was mauled by four men while he was
watching a Junior & Senior Prom night at a
school quadrangle the other Saturday in San
Miguel town.
Leoncio Saliwan, Jr. y Ubo, 33, married, had just gone to the comfort
room and was on his way back to the quadrangle
of the San Miguel Rural Development High School
in barangay District I at about 12:15 A.M. when
he accidentally tripped a chair used by one of
the suspects.
The four - Amaleo Terrazola y Tuazon, 23, Manuel Morales, 22, Salvador
Bernal, Jr. and one John Doe, all of Buhi and
Obo - mauled, kicked and hit the victim's head
with a stone. He was rushed to the Bato
Maternity and Children's Hospital for treatment
while responding cops arrested Terrazola and
recovered the stone used on Saliwan's skull.
Meanwhile, a resident of barangay Casoocan in Virac has complained to
police that a 17-year old out-of-school youth
tried to rape her daughter on Valentine's Day.
The woman claimed that her 18-year old daughter was sleeping beside her
four sisters and brothers when Joseph Guerrero
allegedly entered the woman's house without
permission and tried to rape the teenage girl.
The suspect reportedly escaped after the
sleeping children were awakened by the
commotion.
