1st ICT convention
The
Catanduanes College plays host this March 2 to
the 1st Catanduanes Information Technology
Convention co-sponsored by the provincial
government and featuring discussions on
information and communications technology (ICT).
More
than a hundred IT enthusiasts, government
officials, members of the academe and students
are expected to register for the convention to
be held Friday at the CC auditorium. Virac Mayor
Jose U. Alberto II and Catanduanes Gov. Hector
S. Sanchez will grace the opening program.
Speakers
drawn up for Track 1, which focuses on ICT in
government and business, are Engr. Mimosa
Mallillin of Geo-Surveys & Mappings, Inc. (GSMI),
who will talk on Geo-Information Systems (GIS)
and Geomatica; NEDA Dir. Marlene Rodriguez, RWAN
for Bicol Region; Prof. Gabrielle Iglesias of
the National College of Public Administration
& Governance, GIS for Local Land Use
Regulation; Rep. Leandro B. Verceles, Jr.,
e-Commerce Law; AFP Asst. J-2 Col. Roberto
Ricalde, e-Procurement; Continuing Education
Program head Engr. Geraldo Talisic of the Mapua
