AY Foundation in "Mission of Mercy"

A foundation established by banking taipan Alfonso Yuchengco is spearheading a week-long Mission of Mercy surgical mission at the Eastern Bicol Medical Center this week.

With the UPHRMC Surgical Department, the Diocese of Virac Social Action Foundation, Inc. (DVSAFI) and the Provincial Health Office as project partners, the Feb. 3-10 mission is sponsored by the AY Foundation, Inc. and the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) Legaspi Branch.

Pre-screening of patients started last Saturday afternoon at the Fiat Village, with scores of patients hopeful of being one of the beneficiaries of the mission.

The mission team is headed by Dr. Evelyn Montales and Dr. Elwyn Bernardo, surgeons; Dr. Bernardo Capuno, Dr. Cesar Rebrudo and Dr. Rey Aratiana, internal medicine; Ms. Nelly Buenaventura, medical technologist; Nilo Quinte, AY Foundation project coordinator; Dr. Elvis Bedia, FPCS, and Pio Villacorta, FPCS, senior consultants; Dr. Cesar Culas, consulting anethesiologist, Dr. Harold Macadangdang and Dr. Natividad Monsod, anesthesiologists; and, Dr. Parnelle Patacsil, Dr. Janet Arceo, Dr, Rex Barza, Dr. Roy Allan Malolos and Dr. Abner Ancheta, surgeon-consultants.
