CSC scores high in CE board exam

The Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC) once more reaffirmed its status as an emerging center of excellence in engineering education when it posted an impressive 81 percent passing rate in the recent board examination for civil engineers.

The CSC's passing rate in the November 2000 test given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is way ahead of the national passing rate of 33 percent.

Twenty-six out of 32 examinees from the CSC hurdled the licensure exam. The new civil engineers are Samuel A. Abichuela, Jonathan T. Angulo, Nelson M. Barcelon, Rocel P. Benitez, Michael T. Bernal, Ronald C. Bernardo, Rodante N. Burcer, Vicente Rommel A. Caguia, Maria Victoria B. Gianan, Rael A. Gianan, Jeffrey D. Matienzo, Ramel S. Panti, Medy I. Rubio, Pio B. Sabalas, Marjorie B. Santelices, Jenefe V. Santos, Reynaldo L. Soneja, Edel M. Tacorda, Michele I. Talan, Pio Erwin B. Tardecilla, Salvador C. Tayam, Jr., Elmer V. Tayobana, Grace P. Teope, Neil P. Tesorero, Rodel G. Torio, and John B. Valeza.

Within a period of nine years, the CSC College of Engineering has produced seven board topnotchers, four in civil engineering and three in junior geodetic engineering.
