councilor in hot
water for mauling boy
A
barangay kagawad in Bagamanoc faces criminal and
administrative sanctions after he allegedly
mauled a 14-year old boy last week.
In
its report to PNP provincial director Supt.
Freddie O. Panen, Bagamanoc police identified
the victim as one Arnel Arandea y Vega, an
out-of-school youth of barangay Salvacion.
The
report said that the boy was taking care of a
carabao at about 3:30 P.M. of March 6 when the
animal got loose and wandered into the farm of
kagawad Remegio Santos y Evangelista, 57,
married. The angry councilor reportedly whipped
the boy with a nylon rope and then punched hin
twice on the right ear and at the back of the
head.
Meanwhile,
it seems that the declaration of PNP
headquarters that illegal gambling has been
licked may be all hot air after all following
last week's arrest of a `lotteng kubrador' in a
poblacion barangay.
PO2
Lino Obias and PO2 Whelming Escaro collared
Antonio Talan y Guerrero, 45, jobless and a
resident of Palnab del Norte, while the latter
was in the act of collecting bets near the
chapel in barangay Gogon Centro. Confiscated
from him were P510 in bets, a bondpaper with
number combinations written on it, and the
Yamaha V50 used by the suspect.
