pupils triumph
in reg'l contest
Two
pupils from the Division Special Science and
Math Class (DPSSMC) based at the Virac Pilot
Elementary School emerged regional champions in
the 1st Regional Academic Competitions held
recently.
Division
Elementary Supervisor I for Science Dr. Salve T.
San Juan said Marichelle SJ. Carilimdiliman and
Katrina Tolod were declared regional champion
for Science and Filipino, respectively, during
the contest held at the Regional Educational
Learning Center (RELC) in Legaspi City last
March 1.
The
two gifted pupils each earned a medal and a
Certificate of Merit/Excellence in their subject
areas. Carilimdiliman had Mrs. Nora T. Sales as
coach while Tolod had Ms. Thielen C. Go.
Many
of the contestants failed to make it to the top
three but they went home rich in experience and
new insights in their subject areas. The
delegations were accompanied by coached and
division supervisors.
Conducted
by the Department of Education, Culture &
Sports (DECS) pursuant to Regional Memorandum
No. 15, s. 2001, the competition featured
division champions in the six learning areas of
English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science
and Health, Filipino, and Edukasyong Pantahanan
at Pangkabuhayan (EPP).
The
contest was aimed at assessing pupil performance
and the contestant's ability in said learning
areas.
