Unlicensed drivers hurt in collision

Two motorcycles driven by unlicensed drivers, one of them just 14 years old, collided last week in Virac's main thoroughfare, sending both to the hospital.

Police said the red Yamaha RS100 driven by Ryan Valeza y Tud, 19, student and resident of barangay San Juan, figured in the crash with the red Yamaha V50 with no plate number driven by Maryjane Avila y Estrada, 14, a second-year high school student and resident of Francia, at about 10 P.M. of Dec. 27.

The unlicensed duo, along with Avila's backrider, Nice Barrameda of Danicop, were rushed to the Eastern Bicol Medical Center for treatment of head and bodily injuries. The mishap occurred near the busy intersection near the molave tree of the Juan M. Alberto memorial park.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the suspect in the alleged rape of a mentally retarded woman in barangay Palta Big.

SPO4 Zenaida Obal, SPO2 Nelson Tabor, PO3 Francisco Magdaraog and PO2 Arlan Sevilla collared Guillermo Alpapara, Jr., alias Balucag, in his residence in Palta Small after Municipal Trial Court Judge Nieto T. Tresvalles issued a warrant of arrest with the filing of Criminal Case 5323 against the suspect. The suspect, whose wife is soon to give birth, will be held without bail due to the seriousness of the crime. The victim was allegedly abused thrice sometime in the last week of October 2000 and is now two months pregnant.

In a related development, a 20-year old woman has alleged that a married man barged into her home and fondled her against her wishes last week.

Angeline Tablo y Pagal told investigators that at about 9:30 A.M. of Dec. 28, Roderick San Roque, 30, for unknown reason and without permission, entered her San Juan residence. Once inside, he allegedly closed the door and grabbed her in an embrace. She said she resisted and was able to evade his grasp.
