Coalition's Senate bets due in Virac Feb. 24

All 13 candidates for senator of the People Power Coalition are expected to grace a rally at the Virac Sports Center this Saturday (Feb. 24), with Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo possibly dropping in to campaign for the coalition.

Aksyon Demokratiko coordinator Dr. Antonio P. Zantua said the entourage will arrive in the capital town at noon and will hold the three-hour rally at the sports center starting at 2:30 P.M.

To be led by Bicolano Senator and now DECS Secretary Raul S. Roco, the coalition candidates who will try to muster votes here include Senators Juan Flavier, Franklin Drilon, Sergio Osmena and Ramon Magsaysay, Jr,; Congressmen Ernesto Herrera, Ralph Recto, Manuel Villar, and Joker Arroyo; former Bulacan Gov. Roberto Pagdanganan, former Sen. Wigberto Tanada, Atty. Francisco Pangilinan, economist Solita Monsod, and former BIR Commissioner Liwayway Vinzons-Chato.

According to the tentative itinerary, the People Power Coalition's sortie in the Bicol region begins on Thursday (Feb. 22) in the Camarines provinces, with rallies in Daet, Naga City, Libmanan and Iriga City.

The following day, the group proceeds to Legaspi City, where a rally will be held along with a separate rally in either Tabaco or Ligao. On Saturday, the coalition will proceed to Sorsogon for the morning before going to Virac.
