BFAD sets up office here

The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) has finally set up an office in this island province, after years of serving Catandunganons via a satellite office in the regional center.

The new BFAD office, located at the Provincial Health Office compound in Virac, will be manned by a full-time administrator and will offer food and drug administration services. Fermin Joel S. Bagadiong has been appointed Food and Drug Regulation Officer II for Catanduanes effective Dec. 28, 2000.

In a brief statement, the new BGAD inspector said his office will intensify monitoring activities of all drug establishments, drug distributors and wholesalers as well as food manufacturers. He assured the public that with a full-time inspector at its helm, BFAD will make its services more accessible and efficient.

A young professional and alumnus of CSC Laboratory High School, Bagadiong served as Pharmacist III with the Juan M. Alberto Memorial Hospital in San Andres for four years. A BS Pharmacy graduate of the University of Sto. Tomas, he is the youngest son of Mr. Joel Bagadiong and former Virac Vice Mayor Del Bagadiong of San Isidro Village.
