Bagamanoc widow robbed of P11-T

A 28-year old widow lost P11,000 in cash last week to unidentified culprits who used a ladder in gaining access to her two-storey residence in Bagamanoc town.

According to the report, the robbers used a ladder to climb to the second floor of the house of Eden Lorenzo y Vitalicio in barangay Sta. Teresa last January 8 and entered the open door at the veranda.

From there, the suspects went downstairs to the first-floor store where they got Lorenzo's shoulder bag hidden beneath a drawer. The shoulder bag contained a brown wallet with P11,000 in cash - a P1,000 bill and 20 pieces of P500 bills. The robbers reportedly used the veranda door for their escape.

Meanwhile, Baras health authorities have ruled out foul play in the death of a retired public school teacher in his farm last week.

Honesto Tejada y Vergara was found lying on his back on a rice paddy in barangay Osmena by the family housemaid, Joy Posada, at 6 P.M. of January 10. The retiree reportedly left his home at 2 P.M. to visit his palay farm but failed to return four hours later.

A medico-legal examination conducted by Baras rural health physician Dr. Ronnie delos Santos found no evidence of foul play nor physical injury on Tejada's body. It said the retiree most probably died as a result of myocardial infarction or a heart attack.

In another development, a night patrol led by Insp. Raul Destura confiscated 48 pieces of assorted sizes of sawn lumber early Friday morning (Jan. 12) in Cavinitan. The report said the hot lumber, with a total volume of 250 board feet, was seized at the vicinity of Alfonso Vega's boarding house at 5 A.M.
