Maid claims `amo' raped her thrice

A 20-year old housemaid has complained to police authorities in San Andres that she was raped by her employer three times in 1999 when they were left alone at home by his wife and children after a domestic quarrel.

Accompanied by her mother, the victim, a college student from barangay Datag, identified the suspect as high school teacher Teddy Salvador y Briquillo, a resident of Divino Rostro.

The report sent to PNP provincial director Supt. Freddie O. Panen said the victim, who has a physical defect in one leg, had been a maid in the Salvador household since she was 13 years old in an effort to earn money to finance her high school studies.

She said that the incident occurred last Nov. 28, 1999 when she was left alone with Salvador after his wife took their children and left home to cool off after a domestic tiff.

She claimed that she was awakened from sleep when the suspect covered her mouth with his hand and pinned her down with his body. Salvador was able to undress her and forced her to have sex with him three times in a span of three-and-a-half hours.

Salvador allegedly threatened to kill her if she told anyone about what happened. She said she found the courage to inform her mother about the alleged sexual abuse only last Jan. 26, more than a year after her ordeal.

Three counts of violation of Republic Act 8353, otherwise known as the Anti-Rape Law, has been filed against Salvador before the Municipal Trial Court of San Andres docketed under Criminal Cases 3697, 3698 and 3699.

Salvador's case is the first incident of sexual abuse reported to the police authorities in the province this year. In 2000, 31 similar cases were recorded.
